ToryLou
Hi all, seem to be having a major catch up / update!! I just realised i need to worm my chickens! Oops, slapped wrist for me. i gather flubenvet is the wormer of choice. Can i get from same place i get my pellets, eg animal food wholesaler, or do i need to get from a vet? also while i'm at it, treatment for red mite... no specific evidence of them in with the chickens, but i know they are likely in the area and with summer approaching... i'd rather treat before having a major infestation. and as i am a novice , but have read up etc, what else would you recommend treatment wise? would anyone recommend an on line supplier for these products? Thanks Torylou
Mollie333
Hi, For internatl parasite control, i reccomend getting 'Verm-X' for all poultry and Fowl. 250ml will treat 10 birds for approx 6 months, they sell it in 250ml, 500ml, 1 Litre. you add 1 pump action to the water everyday for three days. Verm-x is hebal, so not classed as a medican.. it should be brought at your pet store. I reccomed this, bettter than the powder. for red mites, i reccomend something called 'TOTAL MITE KILL POWDER' by net tex. you can also buy this in liquid.. but i wouldnt reccomend using it in the water, along with verm x . it only contains pure and natural ingridiance! and contains no chemicals so can be put straight on the birds, in a dustbathe, in the bedding, anywhere really! i put mine in the bedding though. also can be used on all sorts of pets and in the home! to get rid of unwanted bugs, like cockroaches, ants, silverfish, termites and those that occur on domestic pets, like fleas, lice and ticks. you can also buy this form Pets At Home, since it is not classed as a 'medican'. goodluck! Goodluck!!
