baberella
So i am thinking an eglu with an extended run but dont think my garden will be big enough to allow me to move this around enough to a)let the lawn recoverer b)not annoy hubby too much as he already hates the guinea pigs and there run area! The chickens and wigs have to share the garden with hubby, kids and cat! So i am thinking of semi perm run area- but i am not sure if the run area has to be completly covered and rain proof if you are putting material down e.g auboise so it doesnt get wet? Also should i put it on paving i dont fancy a muddy poo run, my garden is very wet and boggy!!!!
Lewis
I'd pave it and cover it, yep Mine is on the patio at the top of the garden and has ikea shower curtains on it, but people have use clear corrugated plastic sheets to cover theirs - ANH has a photo somewhere

Snowy
Hmm just thinking- wouldnt palstic turn the run into a green house? It can be removed in the summer, just put back if the weather turns bad. Also, as it doesn't reach all the way down the sides, there should be plenty of ventilation - otherwise, yes, it can make things a bit hot! I used to just cover half the run so they had shelter, without the heat.
