Delilah's egg dilemma

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

Wonder if anyone has any thoughts on the following...

Delilah (Bluebelle) hasn't been too well recently, not her usual bossy self, laying softies, laying nothing but spending a while on the nest. Now, she has certainly cheered up now and is back to being boss, but she is still not laying, trying to, but nothing is happening. Delilah has been up and down over the last 6 weeks or so, we are in a good spell the last few days, but I would appreciate any advice or thoughts from anyone please :) .

Thanks

Michelle

You say that she is trying to lay but isn't? Could she be broody

I would try worming them all if you haven't done so in a while and feeding just pellets, no treats for a while and see if that helps?

The pellets should contain everything they need to lay well and stay healthy, but try upping the calcium, in the form of calcium carbonate or limestone flour mixed with a little vitamin D. Add a spoonful to the pellets and then some limestone flour. The oil helps it stick.
