Eglu cube or go up with 2m run

She has been standing with her head tucked in all morning and doesn't want to free range, she keeps half closing her eyes and seems very snuffly and has sneezed a few times. Anything I can do and what could it be ?

Sorry to hear she is poorly. It could be a number of things to be honest...

 

If she's only been like this recently (over the last few hours) it may be a soft shelled egg on the way. Because of the sneezing/wheezing though I am thinking possible respiratory infection. If she still looks under the weather hold her and have a listen to her breathing - if she snuffles or wheezes I would pop her to the vet for some antibiotics.

I range GVP who said to put a tonic in her water. I started putting apple cider vinegar yesterday and they said that was good. I have cleaner her nost with a cotton bud moistened in boiled water - she seemed to be a bit snotty. Is the tonic citricidal (?) and where can I buy it?

 

Edit: She is definatley snuffly so have made vet appt for this pm - I don't seem to be having much luck with my chooks but I guess that animals for you

Back from vets, was respiratory infection but caught early and she has had an antibiotic injection and I have more to give orally. Should I separate them now or is there no point? She has perked up already and is tucking into her food

Well done for taking her to the vet, it's good to nip these things in the bud.

 

I've had respiratory infections here, but have never seperated my birds (my choice) and they have recovered with Baytril. Other people may do differently.

 

Keep an eye on her as I am sure you will.

She seems better - eating some sweetcorn atm. I've left them in together as I think she will do better - however will she be warm enough in the eglu or should I put them all in the hutch in the shed ?
