Fox-proof housing?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone - I need some housing advice. Currently my buns live in a hutch at night and have free-range access to the garden during the day - it's completely enclosed and we live in a fox-free area. However, we will soon be moving to a new house with a garden that they can't free-range in as it's not secure and backs on to the moors, and there are definitely foxes in the area. So I need a hutch and run combo that will keep them safe. I don't really want to get an eglu as I have had them in one before and they didn't seem to really like it - they never went in the house and got cold and damp. I ideally want a quality wooden hutch with attached run, but the ones I've seen in shops are all very small and don't look all that sturdy, so I'd worry about foxes getting in. I'm not confident enough in my woodworking skills to build a run to attach to my hutch! Has anyone bought a hutch-run combo online that they're pleased with and could recommend? Or suggest alternative housing ideas that would give my buns plenty of room and keep them safe? Thanks.
