Sooo much pooping

I've got to improve upon the wonky thing that my hubby made! I've contacted Bay animal housing and a superb quote based upon 10' x 20' (measured using my feet . the kids broke the tape measure).

It will be used to keep 11 chickens. Is this enough space?

There will still be a lot of free ranging time outside of this space - but every now and again, the chickens will have to spend the entire day in there.

 

Any opinions gratefullyl received!

I think the rule of thumb is a square metre per bird (10 sq ft?), so you have plenty of room especially if they will be mainly free ranging as well.

 

I have a metre per chicken in the run but they are only confined in there once a fortnight. They still seem to spend most of their time in there even though the door is open so they can come out.

 

I spent a lot of time worrying about the amount of space they had. As you are going for a permanent run I'd get it as big as you can.
