Does anyone know a file type (JPEG, bmp , ect) that will accept transparency and that is recognised by photobucket?

 

I'm trying to make the white background on this: transparent.

I could easily sort it in Photoshop, but I guess that LCL wants to know how to do it herself?

edit: ask your guy about alpha channels, and you'll need a BIG pot of tea

I am using Jasc Paint Shop Pro 6. Transparency is the grey and white checkerboard, right?

he isn`t getting any biscuits until he sorts something else for me (non chicken forum related)

 

and now he has told me his "secrets" I realise I could have done it myself!

 

He used Microsoft Publisher, used the transparency tool and the saved as a jpeg file.

...err, no he didn't! Either he's fobbing you off, or you misheard it, or it's a typo. jpg doesn't support transparencies.

Unfortunatly I don't have publisher anyway so it doesn't matter

I think it's an issue with photobucket. I did what the tutorial said ( thanks debbier!) and saved it as a png but it didn't work. I'll try flickr and see if it works then

Why don't you try copying Falkor's pic into photobucket? That will show you whether Phoobucket can handle the format or not. I can't imagine why it wouldn't.
