Janty
Has anybody got experience of introducing new quail to each other? Is it the same as chickens? I've done it tons of times with my chickens but never with quail. My lad needs some more female company and I need a bit of advice before I make any decisions. Thanks, Jan
Lewis
Mee Its the same as with chickens, if not a bit longer because they can be so aggressive Try + get a wire bird cage to put the new girls in, and put that in the hutch/run that the male is in. I'd leave them like that for a week and then try and introduce them to him. (Or do it the other way round and keep him in the cage so the girls have more room) He'll probably chase them for the first couple of days but they should be fine We used to sometimes have to do it at the farm, but some of the runs had so many that they wouldn't notice an extra couple being added
Janty
I'll put some girls in the run next to him...Tony built that double run with the partition down the middle. That way they will all have loads of room and they can take as long as they like to get used to each other.
Lewis
Plenty of room in there for a few dozen more
