phenna_family
Hi Everyone, I am so excited my hubby has decided to build me a walk in run yeaahhhh I cant wait for it to be done. The girls are excited too as they have all started laying regular again. Just one question we have three girls, is it possible to introduce another chicken to my clan, with more space now we can have more chicks????? Can anyone give me advice, many thx. Claire Downside I am off sick today with sickness bug, must of caught it from the children from school as its been doing the rounds, but the plus side is that I can sit in my conservatory and watch my girls free range round the garden on such a beautiful day
Christian
I would never introduce a lone chicken to a group, personally. Why not add 2? Keep them separate for a week or so, but within sight of the original 3 and see how it goes. They should soon get used to eachother.
captaincollins
Hi There is a really good link somewhere on here on introductions, I but my batts in with my others but they got picked on, so used 2 pannels and made a partition and they can see each other, in a few weeks when I have done the garden and fixed the fence I am gonna let them free range together and so how it goes, if it goes ok I will keep going it for longer and longer for say 4-6 weeks and if all ok, one day they will come back in to the WIR and it will have no divide. Atleast with a WIR you can easily split it for newbies, even if its just strong netting or something, I didnt spend any money on a new coop I went to the tip and got a old blanket box from the wooden section but anything will do, cut a hole in it and there we go, its not gonna win anyy awards but the lid lifts off for cleaning/eggs and its only for a short while. Good Luck, I am sure someone will put a link up for you soon, I couldnt find it sorry x
