LuckyChickenLover-
My month-old chicks are very keen on showing their wings off. They flap them all the time and have even managed to fly a few metres before I could stop them! Should I be encouraging them to fly so that their wing muscles get a work out, or should I be trying to stop them so that when they're fully grown, they don't think that they can fly and have an accident. I know you clip their wings at one point. How old should they be before you clip their wings? Is it even necessary to clip their wings if they live in a fully encosed enclosure with a roof (eg. an eglu) Thanks ~ Lucky Chicken Lover EDIT: I just realised how badly worded this is . I don't know how I could re-word it to make it better. Sorry
Lewis
You don't need to encourage/discourage really, just leave them to it Don't clip their wings just get, I'd wait until 10+ weeks, maybe even POL. I would clip them at that age though, in case they escape the eglu run - saying that, I don't clip mine
