Flubenvent in grapes - how and what dose??

Recommended Posts

Hello, I read on here that Flubenvent can be given in grapes, could someone tell me how to mix the drug and at what dose as this would be a much easier method than adding it to their feed and I'd be sure that all birds got a dose.

Thanks you

I would recommend sticking to the dosing instructions and give in feed over the 7 days. This is how it was designed to be given. It will be much more effective given over a week as it is present throughout their digestive systems all day for a week. The medicated grape will pass through very quickly. Flubenvet really isn't that difficult to dose, mix up your 2kg of medicated feed, pop it in a container and top up their feeders from that for a week. Make up a fresh batch if they get through it and Bob's your uncle.

just remember, if you do it the 'recommended' way, they can't free range for a week as you want them to eat only the medicated food.

As long as the majority of their diet is made up of flubenvetted pellets, it should be sufficient to worm them. Just remember to not feed treats. A dosage on half a grape is not very accurate IMHO :? Heavier birds eat more of the dosed pellets and lighter hens less. You are fine to eat the eggs as long as you follow the dosage instructions. :D
