when to stop turning?

Recommended Posts

I've read a few things about this, but seem to still be confused. I have pekin bantam eggs in the incubator-are they due to hatch on day 18 or nearer day 20/21. I know you should stop turning a couple of days before so should i stop turning on day 16? Thanks guys x

Day 18 for everything here, bantam & LF. I've not had bantams arrive early but a LF Ancona popped out on day 18 last summer. I went to the incubator to take out the dividers and put j-cloth down and it was on it's way out! I was so shocked

I have hatched only two sets of bantam eggs and "Ooops, word censored!"ody made an appearance until day 21 here.

Jay cloth can be used as a "hatching mat" as it helps the little ones get grip and can assist with prevention of splayed leg and also the cloth means that some of the mess is captured so the inccy doesn`t get too messy and the cloth can just be binned. :)

Sounds like a good idea! Especially seeing as it's not my incubator, keeping mess down is a good idea. So much to learn but so so exciting!! Got everything prepared and ready now, keep your fingers crossed for me!
