Toots
Ok Sunday 25th of April i sat on the sofa with a cup of tea and watched a bunch of nutters spend around 4 hours pounding the streets! I have just entered the ballot for the next years marathon, to run and raise money for the BHWT (if i get in!) The chance is 1 in 4 so 25% chance of getting a place. I dont know what i was thinking i just filled it it! Better start training now!

Chucky Mama
Yes you are mad. I did the Brighton marathon this year. It was 1 week before London which I didn't get a place for(tried for London twice now & failed). I am so glad that I did it but the training is a big commitment. I ran approx 400 miles in the 4 months prior to running. Good luck, you wont regret it but it is tough and time consuming. Having said that you are a good deal younger than me so you will probably sail through it If you don't get into London, have a go at Brighton it will be better next year as this year was their first crack at it. Lydia
Yes you're completely barking but good on you! Hope you get a place. As training why not enter the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London in October? I know the BHWT have places allocated to them but don't know whether they've got any left. Hubby did it on their behalf a couple of years ago and it was a lovely run through London's parks (and a super day out for me and my parents). Or there's the Reading Half Marathon in March which is one of the official London Marathon warm up events. Extremely well organised and very good fun. Oh and I'll sponsor you as well
