Unsecure chicken perches

For the second time this year all three chickens have gone broody together. Is that normal? I've made them get up and they were all eating and drinking, now they're sitting in a sulky lump outside.

I feel your pain. Currently, I've got 6 broody at the same time. When I turf them out of the nesting box, they just sit there in a fluffly feathery heap before scampering off and shrieking like harpies. They are a bad tempered bunch.
