Mel (& Paul)
I have to go to York in June for a two day seminar. We have been toldthe company will not pay for us to stay in a hotel the night before the first day. York is a 5 hour drive which would mean leaving about 4 in the morning!!! Anyway, I was thinking of staying in a B&B overnight but obviously it cant be TOO expensive as I have to pay for it myself. Anyone got any recommendations of cheap / friendly / clean B&Bs? (and if anyone says the words "Quality Hotels" I shall smack them!!!)
Egluntyne
Yes.........Him Indoors grew up in York!! Try the Bar Convent.......They do B&B.....very popular...so book early!!! http://www.bar-convent.org.uk/ (The word Bar refers to the fact that it is located near a gate in the city walls.....and has nothing to do with drinking arrangements!) Egluntyne
Very good Mel. Don't be put of by the Convent side of things....it is really nice....and literally a 5 minute walk from the city centre and all the touristy bits. PS...Him Indoors went to the Bar Convent School hundreds of years ago.
