dixie chick
Thanks newboy for decoding the pic and getting it posted! Any chance of getting it a bit smaller and moved over to the left? All my seven girls could be seen then! Thank you - I am completely rubbish at this!
dixie chick
They are gorgeous.I am happy with my mix. I lost one hybrid at only two and a half years old yesterday. She went down hill very fast with egg peritonitis so DH had to end her suffering for her. I hate it that they have to pay such a high price for being good egg layers. At least a pure breed has a break from laying in the winter. BTW I have two Vorwerks and they look nothing like any of yours I must get some pictures on here My Vorwerk cant actually be seen on this pic unless I can get it a bit smaller and moved over a bit ... You cant mistake a Vorwerk, with their black heads and buff bodies. Mine is still immature so hasn't got her comb yet - and she is the littlest of my flock (but my secret favourite)
poachedegg
They're lovely Dixiechick - who and where is the breeder you got them from? Gorgeous dog too!
dixie chick
Thank you poachedegg - I must admit I am very proud of them - anyone would think I had laid them myself! The breeder is a lovely lady called Jackie Mottram - in Aston-by-Budworth (between Knutsford & Northwich) She has a website - gardenhens.co.uk - I think. Or you can email her at gardenhens@aol.com - I couldn't recommend her highly enough and as well as the seven breeds I bought from her, she had some very fancy black ones with pom-poms on their heads - and sends their fertilised eggs all over Europe apparently ... poachedegg
Is garden poultry still going? I had heard that she was selling up. Is up for auction again on 29th September - guide price of £300,000.

dixie chick
Your Vorwerks are gorgeous - my little girl looks very much the same but no comb yet. The little minx escaped today - managed to take off and get over a four foot fence!
