I noticed that if they happen to crack an egg whilst laying they all make a mad dash for it, and seem to gobble up the egg shell. Christian Posted May 12, 2010 Share Posted May 12, 2010 Yes you can! best to wash them first and then bake them in a low oven for 10 mins or so. It makes them more crumbly and takes the taste of egg away. You don't want to encourage egg eating. It won't be a supplement for grit, as that is much harder, but will give them additional calcium. eggalp Posted May 16, 2010 Share Posted May 16, 2010 yes it should do - i have been doing this for a few weeks now and it does seem to have made a difference. i just wash them and put them in the microwave for a minute on high, instead of the oven, then i crush them up and feed it to them - its weird 'cause they see it as a treat and go mad for it!
