The Dogmother
My 25 year old stereo has finally given up the ghost, and I am looking to replace it with a new mini version which will play DAB radio, CDs and connect an MP3 player. The model which I like does all these, but when I tried the DAB radio option in store, it didn't pick up any stations, which isn't surprising in a large shop. I have since read several online reviews for the product and one of them mentioned that DAB reception was very poor for them. Now I noticed that it didn't have an extending aerial like the DAB radio we have at home, but an 'out' socket that just looked like a bolt on the side of the unit. I intend going back to the store to ask if an assistant would accompany me outside to test the signal (fat chance I suspect), but does anyone know whether it is possible to get a small aerial to attach to this 'bolt', or am I onto a loser here? Geoid
Yes you can, I think they use the same socket as a TV areial. You could try and see if it fits. But, you should be able to buy a small areial for it, you just need to find out what socket it takes.
The Dogmother
Thanks Fred, we have a Maplins, so I will have a look. I have a TV aerial and FM Aerial point already, but really just want a small extending one.
