Minkey
Hello, One of my bantums started sneezing last week. I have been putting citri thingy(sorry can't rember the name!) in their water since I noticed, but she is still sneezing. Also for the last couple of days she has had dirty feathers round her vent as well. I plan to wash this tonight & give her a dusting of mite powder. I am also currently worming them. Is there anything else I need to be doing? She is eating & drinking fine & but not laying & I want to get her right again. Thanks, Minkey
Christian
Have a listen to her chest and see if there is any wheezing or rattly breathing, if so a trip to the vet might be in order.
Minkey
Hi, Not she is not rattly or wheezy, she seems perfectly fine apart from the sneezing & vent problem. Minkey

sandyhas3chucks
for some reason their normal link does not work, they are a testing lab. Youy send a sample of poop, they rtest it a few days later call them and they will give you results AND send meds out by next day post. Very good and cost effective. This is their details Retford Poultry PartnershipUnit 5 Stirling Rd West Carr Ind Est Retford Nottinghamshire DN22 7SN 01777 703011 hope this helps
hippy chick
How much does the testing service cost?
sandyhas3chucks
well there was a full list on the website that isn;t working but it depends on how many tests. ring them they are ever so helpful, I understand from others the phone is iffy too, but I got straight through yesterday morning. off the top of my head £10 for worm test and maybe £30 for all tests. as I say they will ewxplain. I pop it in an old pill pot, film cases are used., and the plastic eggs in hair colouring, any smallish thing. personally if worried I spend £5 for guaranteed next day delivery, they got it Friday, most results monday campylobacter takes a tad longer. they test according to symptoms send a covering note. don;t wait for them to call you call them it is quicker hope this helps
sandyhas3chucks
is she acting ill? I would take her to the vet, as a simple course of anti biotics might sort her. they can turn for the worse pretty fast these girls I use the full drops as it says on the bottle of citricidal, which is more than I have seen others, but I just did what I had read before I saw. so if you are only putting 4 drops in the water then more MIGHT help, till you decide what to do.
