JenandBerry
Hello, I have only just joined this forum so I hope this question is ok, in the right place and not been answered else where. Can the cube be constructed with the opening on either side, or is it one way round only? DH and I are in the process of getting ready for chickens, I am going on a beginners omlet course a week tomorrow and we thought we had decided which coop to get however after visiting the farm where the course will be last night and seeing a cube I am trying to persuade DH to get one of those instead but if we put it where we had planned the left side of the cube (as you look out of the door, if you see what I mean) would be against the fence and all the pictures I have seen this is the side with the opening in. Thanks, Rachel
The Dogmother
Hi Rachel The cube can only be constructed/used with the openings as show in the brochures, they can't be swapped around; I hope that helps. Enjoy your course.
JenandBerry
Thanks, that does help Claret. I'll have to go and measure and see but putting it the other way round will mean I can't see the run from the house
Torrin
Hi Rachel, Can highly recommend the cube, I love my but remember you actually need to access all the way round - one side for the nest box, the other for the door handle and the back for the poo trays. Sorry, don't want to make it more complicated, but you don't want to spend all that money and then not be able to use it You don't actually have to use the nest box door tho - you could always just slide the top forward and take the back off. Slightly bigger job to get to your eggs but not difficult
JenandBerry
Don't appologise Torrin, its useful to know and I will hold off bugging DH to order one *now* until after my course when I can have a really good look and decide if it would work. I guess I can admit in here that half the reason I'd like a cube would be the extra space, not that I'd tell DH that, oh no, its 3 chickens now and 2 more when we lose one to have 4. But they are all so pretty in their own way.
