PeckyBeak
I have always fed my girls on mash in the day and some mixed corn before bedtime, I was told by a breeder that corn should not be given in the summer unless a frost is expected as corn is given in the winter to warm them up. If given in the summer, they may overheat. My girls are queuing at the door for their usual seed and I don't know what to do. Advices please. Redwing
A little is fine, most 'mixed corn' is mainly wheat anyway I've been giving my lot a little wheat that has been soaked, its great for keeping them hydrated and is a bit of a treat too
Jools
You can buy poultry wheat which doesn't contain any corn or maize and is therefore less "heating".
