Space Chick
Big Suze, my silkie, has a really bad eye. Its all weepy and crusty and she is keeping it closed. The vet is coming tomorrow, and I have been bathing it in boiled cooled water with cotton wool and have given her some nutri drops, but I was wondering if there was anything else I could do before the vet visit. Any thoughts?
Ms Tilytinkle
No further ones except to say well done you & you seem to be doing all you can. MsTilyhopesitisntcontagioustoherothereyeorotherchooks.Blessher&you.
Chucky Mama
Not really much more that you can do other than keeping it clean. You can use cold tea (no milk!) too. You are quite right to get it seen by a vet sooner rather than later Hope it's nothing too serious.
Clur
Dilys had the same thing and we bathed her eye in luke warm tea. We kept bathing it and it took a little while but she completely recovered.
Space Chick
She has a nasty eye infection, she has drops to put in twice a day for a week, and I am to take her back if it doesn't get better.
