I hate to see animals in cages, my chickens free range, however I would like some quail, if I kept them in a rabbit run with a rabbit hutch is this unfair? is this the same as keeping a budgie in a cage as surely it's not natural for them to be in a run? or is this a silly question......??? thank you. Lewis Posted May 29, 2010 Share Posted May 29, 2010 My chickens (and ducks) FR all the time too, but quail are different. If you let them out to FR I doubt you'd see them again. They're quite nervy so will just run into bushes and be gone, but they're also good at flying and won't stand up against a cat.
