Hi,

 

One of my hens who has been in tiptop condition and laying well has become very lerthagic in the last couple of days, she sits or stands with her eyes closed alot of the time.

She laid an egg yestaday and eats a bit, although on feeling her crop just now it was empty and she feels lighter.

There is no discharge from her nostrils and her comb is still bright red, she is breathing fine.

I have given her some garlic this morning and poultry drink, any other recommendations?

If she has lost weight and is hunched, my first thought would be worms. Has she been wormed with Flubenvet at all?

She perked up later in the evening and seems better. Do you worm your hens every 6 months with that stuff? I've had mine for a month and have not yet got any wormer except DE.

Does everybody worm their hens regularly?
