Sparklysocks Posted June 1, 2010 Share Posted June 1, 2010 I've got 3 hens who are now approx 10 months old. Two of them have been laying daily since January. My rhode-island hen has never laid an egg - is it possible to get a barren hen? Or do some hens just take a long time to lay? (I understand rhode-islands to be a good laying breed). She seems perfectly happy and healthy in herself so I'm not too worried...it would be nice to have her eggs though! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My Light Sussex hybrid started laying 10 WEEKS after my Black Rock My Black Rock hardly misses a day but my Sussex Star is a bit laid back and lays when she feels like it Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

chicken bark Posted June 1, 2010 Share Posted June 1, 2010 I'm beginning to think that one of mine will never lay. I've had her since 15/03 and she was supposed to be 20+ weeks then.
