Hiya, i have 3 hens who usually lay 3 brown eggs a day but over past couple of weeks one egg has the usual brown shell but seems coated in white stuff, some days its worse than others, its sometimes speckled with the white stuff and today the whole egg bar the tip is white,could it be the hens urine? Its weird but i'm not sure if the eggs are safe to eat, i can try get a picture if needed.

Sounds like it might be calcium deposits in which case they'll be perfectly fine to eat . (A photo would confirm that though .)

If it is calcium deposits is there anything i can do? Is it harmful to the hen? I only ever give them crushed oyster shell & limestone flour occassionally when i think they need it.

I'm no expert but I'd imagine that is calcium deposits . Sounds like you're doing the right things so I'd just see how her subsequent eggs are. It might just be a blip.

Might be worth cutting out the calcium supplements for a while and see if it makes a difference.

Yep, if you are giving a calcium supplement I would stop using it.
