egg bound... then big egg

Recommended Posts

Hi

Our light sussex (4 years old) has always laid really well. A few weeks ago she was unwell (and we discovered egg bound). After taking the advice given on here, I stayed up late with her and she laid 2 eggs at about 1am (great timing!) and was perfectly fine again. She's laid normal eggs since that episode until today when she has laid one that is nearly double the length of a usual one (but not much fatter than usual). Should I be worried that she is getting strange egg habits? May be it's old age?

Just wondering if anyone's experienced similar. I'd rather her not lay if it's going to make her ill.

Thanks
