jam
Hi, went up to let the chicks out this morning and found bloody droppings in their coop Im not taking any chances and have just ordered some coxiod of the internet. They all seem theyre normal crazy selves, and they certainly havnt lost their appetite. What else could it be other than coccidiosis if im wrong, and if it is coccidiosis, what do I do? Jools
Coccidiosis is the most likely culprit. How old are the chicks? You don't have time to wait for coxoid to arrive by post if it is cocci The options are finding some medication chick crumb ASAP or asking your vet if Baycox can be prescribed for chicks. Fingers crossed for you.
jam
Theyre 7 weeks old. found the culprit of the droppings this morning, a very sorry looking buff orpington . I seperated him in his own run. He's still drinking. My local food suppliers dont sell medicated chick crumbs and the vets know diddly squat about chickens and are ages away :'( im just going to have to keep my fingers crossed and hope he'll hang on until the coxoid arrives How long do you think he's got ? I have been tryin to get medicated chick crumb and they look at me like I am barmy and have no idea what it has in it!
