stehaggan
Hi I need to attach my superglugs and grubs to the WIR tomorrow before picking up the hens about 5pm. I have been to ikea and bought the rails advised and was just wondering if anyone has any photos of how to attach them or details of how to put them on the WIR? They seem quite heavy and i dont want to make a mess of it, also how high should the superglug be and the grubs? thanks in advance
atsw
You will need to find a bit of wood that is at least 3' long and approx 4" or more deep. Screw the Ikea rail to the plank of wood. Then, once you have attached the (empty) superglug and the (empty) grub to the rail you can position the plank of wood against the WIR, adjust for height, and then screw the plank to the wood frame of the WIR. The picture below shows a similar approach, but with different hangers for the superglug and the grub. stehaggan
thanks for that i didn't see the picture first time round, it looks like ill try the grubs the height of the bottom of the cube and the glugs a bit higher from the picture. your run looks really nice, i've been thinking what to do about my roofing i was going to put the clear roof like yourself but someone told me my chickens would roast so at the moment its just mesh with some shade protectors. I think i may rethink and put some plastic sheets on afterall. thanks
