quick answer needed to a stupid question!

Recommended Posts

So, after a bit of a to-do, we persuaded the girls to go into the henhouse to bed.

The question is, should we have left water in there for the baby one (8 weeks old), or will she be fine until the morning?

The breeder mentioned something about food and water if we seperated her from the others and put her in the cat carrier to sleep, but I don't know if birds need water/food over night.

Help!

No they don't need food/water overnight! As long as you remember to let them out early tomorrow - we normally aim for 6:45 and ours are already pacing up and down! We've left the door open tonight as it's really muggy so they can let themselves out in the morning (heck, hope they're quiet!).

Wow! - that's a quick answer.Thanks Tom!

I knew it was a stupid question, but with her being so tiny and everyone stressing the importance of hens having enough to drink, I flapped.

Hubby has just gone out with a torch to check on them, and they are all roosting happily. :D
