lheurebleue
We collected the girls on Friday from Crofters Farm just outside High Wycombe. The Black Star is Agent Brown Cow and the two Gold Stars are Betty and Babs. They're my sister's really but I'm happy to be a chicken auntie! Agent is a really outgoing chook and is happy to be stroked, and the other two are still a bit nervous but seem laid back and not at all skittish. They have been putting themselves to bed each night and apart from a peck or two there hasn't been any squabbling...yet! That said I think Babs has had a quiet word with the other two and told them she's top hen. Oh, and Agent left this this morning.
craftyhunnypie
That is why Agent is top chook & bossing the others, she is the only one laying. It seems to be like that in the pecking order. It's also why she likes a fuss & cuddle off you. Once chhoks are in lay, they just become more friendly usually. Congrats on the egg! lheurebleue
That is why Agent is top chook... What you say makes sense but she isn't took chook! Babs (the one in the background in the pic) seems to be at the moment. They're going to be let out into the garden early tomorrow evening so things may change then. Super - some of mine come from Crofters...lovely place, isn't it? It is. The lady there was so lovely.
