Chicken boarders

When females get broody do the males sit on the eggs while the females go out and eat?

I wouldn't have thought so, the eggs should be fine on their own, but could happen ...

Oh thanks Its just Dot laid an egg today and then she was on it for a good 30mins to an 1hour then she came out and he sat on it, and while she was laying the egg he guarded the nestbox? Does that mean anything about her being broody?? x

I have seen this in my chickens to be honest

My silkie hen was sat on some eggs she went out and my pekin cockerel sat on them
