esta
Can somebody please give me tips on breeding californian quails? Can I leave them to breed and hatch naturally or should I incubate them? What time do you take them out and incubate them if nessecary? How long do they take to hatch? How many eggs are normally in the brood? etc PLEASE the more information the better thanks x
Lewis
I don't have them myself, but what I've picked up from friends who breed etc I think you have a different ratio of males:females than usual ... 3m:2f - best to get a book and check They're better suited to an aviary, rather than a hutch set up. Take the eggs out as soon as they are laid and then set them when you have enough to hatch.your incubator will hold. If you wanted them to hatch them you just give them a nesting box, hope they use it and then they do all the hard work I think they brood about 12 Take 22 or 23 days to hatch.
