Before I rush out tomorrow......

.......do you think I should wait until next week to buy new hens?

Quick back story - I posted about bad tempered hens a few days ago and decided to give them to a friend of mine who has 15 already. Thought they'd be quieter in a larger flock and now I don't need to worry every time my children go out with them. However, Marsha is now alone. I rang Omlet today and can collect a Miss Pepperpot and a Gingernut tomorrow. But, and this is where I need help. Do I wait until next Tuesday as we are away Saturday/Sunday.

I didn't think my friend would be round so quick. I now feel really sorry that Marsha is all alone. But I know how she reacted when we bought the Speckeldys last year. She wasn't nice to them. I know that is nature's way but should I be here to watch it? Or just let them get on with it? My friend said she'd pop in to see if they're ok.

Help please before I drive the hour to Omlet HQ!!

But she looks so sad and lonely!

If I had thought about it properly, I would have put my friend off until next week but with three kids, after school stuff, husband working too much, tea to cook, kids to put to bed and I had to be out by 8, I forgot I wouldn't be here over the weekend!! What a numpty! Poor Marsha. She went to bed early all lonesome. :boohoo:

You really should be around to keep an eye on the introductions. If you have spare accommodation for new girls, then it would be fine to get some tomorrow and keep them separate from but within sight of Marsha. if not, I would wait until after the weekend.

I don't have anywhere seperate so I will wait until next week, many thanks. Shame, I was looking forward to our trip out tomorrow but I think I do need to be here. Not that I can do much, they just have to get on with it don't they? But in case it turns nasty, I'll wait.
