docsquid Posted June 11, 2010 Share Posted June 11, 2010 Dear me, you'd think we were going away for months, not two days! We are leaving the chickens in the care of our neighbour. She hasn't got chickens yet, but has been on an Omlet course - she's just waiting for some modifications to the garden before getting hers. She has been shown how to do it, introduced to the chickens, cuddled them, fed them etc. Obviously extremely good at it and loves them to bits. I've also cleaned out the cube, dug out and replaced the Hemcore in the run, checked the chickens about three times a day for mite, splashed diatom everywhere in the cube and nest box, filled their dust baths with diatom, made up a specially-tasty food mix with their favourite Wiggly-Wigglers food, put citricidal in their water, checked them again... ...all for two days away!
