What a difference a year makes

Recommended Posts

And it truly is a big difference, keeping chickens has been a blessing, maybe sometimes in disguise i.e. losing two of the three original ex batts, nearly losing the third (egg bound) but after an eye wateringly large vets bill she's still top chook, my small but once neat garden resembling a war zone.

Now with the help of OH and his burgeoning carpentry skills I have a grandly named plant theatre (just a shelving unit really) to keep my plants out of reach of my chicken terrorists, complete with pots decorated by grand kids and a raised veg patch (my first attempt) which is giving me real satisfaction even if its not very productive and of course fresh eggs every day from my three beautiful girls.

Always enjoyed sitting in the garden but now I sit there and think life is sweet :D

A year really does make a difference.

Only been keeping mine for a year but i dont think i could live without them (well could do with a little more sleep).

Mums garden was ruined but since WIR was built it has grown back but not having the churps or noises coming from the garden would be strange now.

And everyone says keeping chickens is addictive well they are right !
