Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Hi Guy

 

I am a newbie chicken keeper and we got three Light Sussex hens from a reputable farm in sussex two weeks ago. They are all doing fine but I suddnely realised that I hadn't asked the breeder if they had been wormed.

 

I phoned him today and he said they had been vaccinated but not wormed becasue they were too young (they were 17 weeks). So when should I worm them then?

 

I have just bought some Flubenvet, but didn't want to give it to them too early. Two of the girls have started laying and the other doesn't seem that far off.

I wouldn't bother just yet. I'd leave it 2 or 3 months.

 

I routinely worm mine with Flubenvet around every 4 months.

We worm ours a week after we get them unless they are really young. I think anytime after 18 weeks-ish is fine for worming.
