westie mum
Had my girls now for a week and I think I am getting the hang of keeping chickens . Last week when they came I thought I had made a big mistake by having them but by the weekend what a difference, they are such characters and make me smile so much. Our Omlet netting came on Tuesday so they were let out to free range and they love it, don't even have any problems putting them back in when I go out. Henrietta started to crouch on Tuesday and this afternoon I have had a look in and she's laid, can't explain the feeling. I must have looked a right idiot standing in the garden saying "it's an egg, you've laid an egg" , my neighbour next door shouted over well what did you expect her to lay . Can't think of a lovelier sight than seeing the chickens pottering around the garden making their little noises. My dogs have been angels too and not bothered at all apart from the odd sniff. Goldstar
Well done Henrietta. And well done you, you are clearly a proud chicken Mummy. How many chickens have you got?
mabelandflosmum
I remember the excitement of the first egg, we fried it and shared it for tea, very Good Life! Your chickens will continue to develop their own little characters and you will soon find yourself totally in love with them!
