As a family where every member wears glasses we have a lot of old pairs knocking around -some of which have expensive high density highpower lens so it seems a particular waste. In the interests of helping get to my 'Get rid of 100 items' total I thought I'd have a bit of a search to see if anyone does anything with old glasses and they do !

I think this is brilliant!

 

I am lucky enough to work in a large office and we have someone involved in this charity, so he had a bag of old specs off myself and my dad a few years ago. Must admit to recycling old frames myself now though, and having the optician just change the lenses.

I've just had a lens change as well but I think I have some old ones around as well - great idea.

Did a search of drawers and cupboards and between the whole family I found 10 pairs of completely unused old prescription glasses

These have now gone to Vision express
