Ness3103
i'm having soo much fun with my girls at the moment...... NOT amongst the other problems i've got with them they've started eating their eggs i've ordered some pot eggs and just wanted to check whether i leave them in the nest box all the time or take them out at night the girls used to lay at the same time everyday but lately it's been all over the show and they all lay the same colour eggs now too, which is a nuisance, apart from tia who doesn't lay at all so i'm running in and out all day to try and rescue my eggs which are few and far between
Ain't Nobody Here
Poor you, that's a real pain . I don't think it matters, but I left them in the whole time. I did break the habit eventually (I used mustard on egg shells too which may have helped).
Ness3103
thank you i'll try mustard too although knowing my lot they'll like it they like ukadex and purple spray so they obviously haven't read any chicken books

Ness3103
don't want to speak too soon but i think the pot eggs have worked, they haven't eaten their eggs for the last couple of days
Millihelen
Where did you get your pot egg from? We used to have one, but "Ooops, word censored!"ody knows where it is! Also does the mustard trick really work - the way my chooks gulp things down, I can't believe that they taste anything!
