AJuff Posted June 20, 2010 Share Posted June 20, 2010 I have all but two hens bumper bitted at the moment as their taste for feathers is insatiable. I thought perhaps once they had fallen off they would have forgotten this terrible habit but it appears not. I have kept Hermione in isolation within the run for three weeks until the feathers on her back have returned. I let her back out with them and within minutes they were at her back feathers!!!! I have promptly bumper bitted the offender but i saw two others have a go with bumper bits on. Is this a cycle that will continue? Will new hens in the flock continue to follow suit? My two new girls are separate from the others and are so sweet and they don't pluck feathers!! If I integrate them in will they start feather eating?
