jellykelly
I noticed today that my little pekin, mulan was not making a great deal of effort to move around. I've found her a couple of times in the nest box, generally looking lethargic and earlier when I let them all out to free range she was laid in a corner of the run with her eyes shut. Her movement is slow and her crop is empty of food yet sqidgey as if simply full of air. I guess it won't be air but fluid. Any ideas please guys? Christian
Sounds like she might have sour crop. Info here - viewtopic.php?f=41&t=59754 Hope she is better soon.
jellykelly
Thankyou. I thought that was it. Well today I have drained her crop three times. Thats a bit yucky! I have offered bread soaked in olive oil - not taken. I have offered pribiotic yogurt with goodies mixed through - Not taken. She is drinking though. Just water with a splash of ACV so something is going in. She still looks lethargic and slow in moving. What should I be doing now really? Should I still try the yogurt? Will she eat when she's hungry or is it a case of trying something else now? Thanks in advance
Christian
I would syringe yoghurt into her beak very slowly. Maybe adding some sugar/honey to give her some energy if she isn't eating. Make sure she is drinking too. Sorry, lost track on the days. Hope she is ok? If she is still ill, then I would take her to a vet.
