Caroline Hart
I am fairly new to chicken keeping. I had two hybrid chickens go broody, and put some cream legbar and barnevelder eggs from a friend under them, which have hatched into 2 gorgeus cream legbar and 1 barnevelder with the second mother. The single chick seems a bit lonely. It would be nice to put the chicks and mothers together. Does anyone know if this would work, and if so, how I should do it and at what age? Redwing
Are the two mums close? If so its worth a try but not until the chicks are old enough to get away from trouble , 10+ days old If the mums arent close and normally friendly with each other then dont risk it A mum with one chick will be fine
