Guest
Are there any plants that the chickens wont eat that they can hide in or under ?

bridgy chooks
I was just sorting out some pics of the girls from the weekend. This is Tilly coming out from under the shade of our phormium (I think that's how you spell it) plants which come in different shades of green to red. The girls love to dustbath under them and they won't eat them because they are quite tough (and spikey - but not spikey enough to hurt them!). Guest
Thanks. I just sorted out plans for creating s raised bed in their run. It can fit 2 big plants so might get both Or 2 of the big spikey plants because our garden centre has loads like it.
bridgy chooks
Raised beds in the run, that's a good idea. I might try that, thanks We have budleas planted just outside our run (they can get really tall) but have directed branches into the run to give the girls some shade, they also like jumping up at the flowers when they've gone to seed... and sit under them when they are allowed to free range... just a thought!
