Daphne
a) is there a proper name for a 'swarmcatcher' ? (ie designated person in the club who collects swarms from round and about and distributes them to people on the list) b) how do you transport a swarm in a car? c) are there any public liability/being sued type issues if you perform this service? Olly
When I caught one earlier in the year I wrapped the cardboard box in the sheet that we'd laid underneath it, and put it on the back seat - that was ok for a 20-minute drive. Once they're in, they will generally stay fairly quiet but you don't really want bees flying round the car while you're driving.
