squidsin
My pekin Nugget STILL has a swollen cheek on the left hand side. I've taken her to the vet twice - it's cost me £200 so far - and she's been on three loads of antibiotics. She's still on them, and she's obviously feeling better - she laid her first egg yesterday, shame we can't eat it - but her cheek is still swollen. The vet said it was a sinus problem. I am at a bit of a loss as to what to do now. I can't afford another £100 plus vet bill - especially as it hasn't got her better so far - and she's been in solitary in a rabbit hutch for three weeks now. Has anyone got any advice at all? Will she just get better eventually anyway? Aaaargh!
Plum
I've no idea. To clear human sinus problems steam is used, would it be worth trying that somehow. I don't know warm bath, steamy cage or something
Redwing
has she had Mycoplasma? I was chatting to a lady today who had her chooks sinus drained with a syringe and needle after mycoplasma to reduce swelling in the face - it worked but obviously thats another vets bill What antibiotics did you get? Tylan is very good for sneezes, sniffles and sinuses - its not licenced for use on poultry but can succeed if Baytril doesnt clear the problem
