Egluntyne
I wouldn't intervene just yet. They stop and have a little rest every now and then. It is an exhausting business. If you start to help before the chick has worked its way right round the egg, you risk tearing a blood vessel, and what might look like just a little blood, can be a catastrophic loss to a chick. Some don'tin help chicks out at all, believing that mother nature knows best.
meezers
One of mine took about 12 hours. One I helped out after it had made no progress in almost 20 hours.
