randy guinea
I have 2 boy guineas about 1 year old and one of them is being very loving towards the other one, I know it is probably to do with dominance. I have had an offer from a friend who has a girl of about the same age and she woul dlike some babies. My question is if I give her my desperate boy, will I be able to put him back wiht his friend afterwards? Are they likely to fight or will the other one be more relaxed and chilled, I have considered a dunk in some cold water or perhaps bromide, any suggestions gratefuly received. Roobaloo
To be honest, it'll make him worse. I had two guineas and one would frequently start purring and trying to mount the other. The 'victim' made his objections clear and moved away...sometimes the offender would keep going but after a few tellings off, gave it a break for a little while. A friend was keen to breed from her two girls, so both went and did their thing...unfortunately this just made the offender realise what he'd been missing and became obsessive throughout the breeding season. As long as their is no fighting (shouting and the odd threat are to be expected but no actual biting or blood shed!!), both are eating and drinking, and the 'victim' has enough room to run away (individual sleeping boxes prefered!) ...I'd leave them be. jam
Been there, bought the T-shirt. I ended up having to buy another hutch to seperate them, not because the boar was too randy, but because they forgot who each other was and wouldn't stop fighting. Hope this helps
