it looks like the regs that were brought in after the big foot and mouth out break mainly to stop catering waste been fed to livestock the same ones that stop us from feeding kitchen s"Ooops, word censored!"s to our chickens

it looks like it also regulates the composting sites that take the green waste local councils

2002 though. Not terribly recent, unless I'm missing a subtle nuance somewhere, which is entirely possible.

What a mouthful & I have to look at a fair amount of legislation. Seems to cover amongst other things disposal of dead animals and animal waste. I didn't see anything too recent but there is an exemption for domestic pets when they die, unless there is a notifiable disease. It may follow then if you are not Defra registered no one will know you exist, it would probably be fine. The other part seems to refer to the banning of food waste from landfill, that may be why it has come up? Hope that may be of some help, hoorah for the EU, where is that Govt website to suggest cuts!
