Using electrical items abroad

Recommended Posts

This is probably a daft question but I'm not very up on things electrical  .

I'm thinking of taking my boys' PS2 on holiday abroad. There is a cable with a 2 point plug on the end which I think came with the PS2 so is it just a case of plugging it in and Bob's your uncle? If that cable doesn't work with the PS2, can I just plug the normal cable into a European adaptor plug?

Also, are the sockets at the back of a European TV (in the Netherlands) likely to be the same as the UK?

Yes the sockets are likely to be the same and also the device will work on the different currency. I remember this from importing all those Wii's from Germany the other christmas! Its worth looking closely at all your electronic devices as many have plugs which actually convert! I took a laptop back to school today with one of these - you unclip the 3 prong plug and there is a 2 prong one underneath. GHD straighteners do it from UK to US just by unscrewing the plug.

I often buy from the States - only issues are when regional discs don't work in some games machines.
